Methodology of work with the argus optical system in the conditions of sheet metal forming
Original language description
ARGUS is a non-contact 3D optical measurement system for measuring and analysing the deformation of sheet metal parts after forming operation. The system is based on the combination of photographs taken from different angles. From the captured and processed images, the 3D coordinates of the points on the surface of the object are obtained. It is possible to determine the position of the point within the Forming Limit Diagram (FLD), the value of the major and minor strains, and the thinning of the material at the measured location. The measurement system can be used to evaluate deformation, test materials, verify and optimise drawing simulations, and optimise stamping tools.
