Influence of electrode force on dynamic resistance in resistance spot welding
Original language description
This article is focused on a study of electrode force and electrode cap wear influence on dynamic resistance during resistance spot welding. The article contains a description of dynamic resistance waveform and how to measure parameters for its calculation. The experiment in this paper focuses on dynamic resistance waveforms as a function of electrode force and electrode cap wear. Samples in this experiment were tested by visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, metallographic testing, lap-shear test and also weld nugget diameters were measured. The results of this experiment show that electrode force has a significant effect on dynamic resistance waveform and it also affects final properties of a spot weld.
