EDGE FORMABILITY COMPARISON FOR DEEP DRAWING MATERIALS CR4, CR5, HX180
Original language description
This paper investigates the influence of stress states and internal hole preparation on the formability of CR4, CR5, and HX180 deep-drawing steels, focusing on edge formability and the Kobe test. The experimental work encompasses the preparation of samples, the measurement and evaluation of major and minor deformations, and their application in constructing Forming Limit Curves (FLCs). These curves serve as critical input for numerical simulations aimed at eliminating discrepancies between real-world stamping processes and simulated models, resulting in financial and time efficiencies during pre-production. Furthermore, the influence of internal hole preparation techniques and material anisotropy on the outcomes of the Kobe test is analyzed. By addressing these aspects, the study contributes to a better understanding of how material and process variables affect formability, with implications for optimizing the stamping process.
