Original language description
Several approaches have been proposed for the vibration suppression of mechanical systems using dual-frequency vibration absorbers based on single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) systems. However, all of these approaches are susceptible to potential instability of the overall system. They use precomputed maps of stability regions for tuning. This paper introduces the novel concept of stabilization feedback with guaranteed stability. This means that, for a given combination of excitation frequencies, the gains of the stabilization feedback can be determined. The paper provides a proof of stability for any possible parameters. This ensures that excitation by any pair of frequencies can be suppressed. The resulting suppression ratio and settling time are excellent. These results were achieved using a new approach to stabilizing the system through partial state feedback.
