  • Original language description

    The contribution proposes a simple virial-like equation of state (EOS) suitable for CFD simulations of real gas flows through turbines or compressors. The virial coefficients are locally optimized using the idealized isentropic flow through the machine. The resulting equation combined with a simple polynomial fit for the ideal part of the heat capacity provides a better approximation of the full EOS than standard cubic EOS such as Aungier-Redlich-Kwong.
