Subjective quality of information in multimedia becomes recently a crucial topics as a fundamental part of QoS. The paper deals with various aspects of objective evaluation of subjective image quality and its impacts on general use of image compression techniques. The experimental results are discussed and some practical cases (face, car plate, seven-segment display) related to security are presented.
