Original language description
Magnetoresistive sensors have increased their importance in the recent time. Especially the Anisotropic Magnetoresistive sensors (AMR) have went through a large development, which led to their improvements and enlargement of their possible field of application. As the magnetoresistive sensors are small, low-cost, compact and much more sensitive than the traditionally used Hall-sensors, their future expansion to the industry is imminent. This article gives an overview on the modern magnetoresistive sensors of the AMR, GMR (Giant Magnetoresistance), and SDT (Spin Dependent Tunelling) type. Suitable design of a magnetometer for these sensor types is beeing discussed.
