Acquisition of space-time volumes for a 2D REX
Original language description
This report describes acquisition of omnidirectional images for image based rendering (IBR) using X-slits and allowing a motion in a 2D region of exploration (REX). We describe new acquisition devices we developed for the BeNoGo project. Then, we discussthe topic of reduction of a large number of input images required by IBR to a feasible number. The reduction requires some assumption of a scene depth, therefore, we discuss dense stereo reconstruction of a scene from noncentral mosaic images and partial 3D reconstruction from the input omnidirectional images. We compare our approach to other methods and finally, we give a commented list of our publications related to the BeNoGo project.
