Impact of Present Compression Methods on the Picture Quality - Experimental Results

Original language description

This paper deals with image quality assessment. This problem can be divided into two tasks. The first one is the determining of analytic expression of image subjective quality as the function of chosen objective parameter and the second one is the finding objective metric matching to the perceived subjective image quality by human observers. To achieve these goals, both subjective and objective tests were made. The results obtained by joining both tests are demonstrated. It is illustrated that the average observers statement about the picture quality can be modelled by the Weibull-function.
