Original language description
Matlab script for the optimization and design of dual-band or generally multi-band planar patch antennas of predefined shapes has been realized based on the combining of genetic algorithms and simplex method. Program IE3D is used to analyze antenna structure in implemented Matlab optimization loop. Criterion for optimization is both impedance matching and shape of radiation pattern on designed frequency to reach broadside radiation characteristics on both designed frequencies. The procedure has been tested and verified on dual-band patch radiator.
