First, this paper presents the results of an investigation of a coplanar leaky wave antenna with wide slots. The antenna radiation is based on excitation of a space leaky wave of the first order. A prototype of coplanar leaky wave antenna was designed, fabricated and then measured. Second, a conductor-backed co-planar leaky wave antenna was simulated and the radiation pat-tern is compared with the radiation pattern of the coplanar leaky wave antenna.
