    Ontology Formalism Transformation

  • Original language description

This article deals with the problem how to support a transformation of an ontology between different formalisms. The presented methodology requires to describe meta-models of both the source and the target formalisms and to define a mapping between them. This allows us then to convert repeatedly any ontology encoded in the source formalism to the target one. It is further shown that an extension of the SumatraTT system can be used to implement such transformations easily. The research presented in the paper has been motivated by the needs of the CIPHER research project.
