Non-verbal Acoustic Control of Mouse Cursor (U3I): A Usability Study with the Elderly
Original language description
This paper describes the design, implementation and user evaluation of a system that can help elderly users control a mouse cursor using humming, hissing or whistling. This system is an improved version of the system reported in previous study. As a baseevaluation, the participants tested the old system and then the new system. All participants reported that the new system was easier to use and more intuitive. Preliminary objective measures also indicate that the new system has higher completion rate and user satisfaction. The most successful input method was humming.
