In the paper, we will focus on the changes that accompany engineering profession and that must be reflected in engineering education. The most obvious ones are role of engineers in enterprises, interdisciplinarity and globalization of engineering. We will discuss this development using a case study - biomedical engineering education at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. During recent years many things have changed and we have acquired new experience in thearea of BME.
