Analysis of Dynamic Behavior of the Distributed Generation Islanding
Original language description
This paper aims at analyzing the potential impacts that distributed generation might have on the stability of electrical power networks. Distributed generation can potentially support unintentional system islands, isolated from the remainder of the system. These islands have unavoidable risk to the general performance of the system as well as the risk to safety and equipment hence need to be quickly detected and eliminated. Islands can be detected either by frequency or by sensitive under- and over- voltage functions. After the detection of island, then some of the load can be disconnected automatically by the use of automatic balance so as to maintain the synchronism of the distributed generation connected to the island.
