    The objective of this study is the investigation of a novel feature selection method based on the implementation of the binary Particle Swarm Algorithm and its application to the demanding problem of the classification of Fetal Heart Rate signals duringthe intrapartum period. The results are promising paving the way for more research towards the improvement of the proposed algorithm.
