Using Festival Residual LPC Inventories in the Epos TTS
Original language description
The aim of this paper is to describe the possibility of the new voices implmentation into the Epos text-to-speech (TTS) system. We decided to implement voices from the Festival TTS system, because they can be easily downloaded from the Internet. This system synthesizes text from speech units, which are stored in an inventory file as Residual Linear Prediction Coding (RLPC) coefficients (with their corresponding residual signals). The inventory file provides every information neded for the text synthesis. The only and the most difficult thing is to evaluate the inventory structure, because the documentation is not comprehensive. The text is synthesized in the MROLA-like format, thus a phoneme lenght (and a prosody) can be betermined directly.
