Numerical Model of a Thermoelastic Actuator Solved as a Coupled Contact Problem
Original language description
Actuators working on the principle of thermoelasticity are a promising technique for fixing tasks in an industrial environment. The paper deals with the computer simulation of their operation. The simulation problem represents a multiply coupled problemcharacterized by interaction of an electromagnetic field, a temperature field and a field of thermoelastic strains and stresses. The corresponding mathematical model is solved by a strongly coupled formulation (the electromagnetic field is considered asindependent of the other two fields that are treated as hard coupled). The methodology is illustrated on a typical example.
