The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement under which industrialized countries will reduce over the five year period 2008-2012 their collective emissions of greenhouse gases by 5.2% compared to the year 1990. In consequence of the Kyoto Protocol the European Commission puts out the pressure on European nations to fulfill this task. Hybrid electric vehicles combine electric and internal combustion engine drive and are one of promising solution.

Czech description
Kyotský protokol je dohoda, podle které vyspělé industrializované státy sníží svoji produkci skleníkových plynů v letech 2008-2012 o 5.2%. V souvislosti s protokolem tlačí Evropská komise na státy Evropské unie splnit tento úkol. Elektrická hybridní vozidla spojují elektrický pohon se spalovacím motorem a jsou jedním ze slibných řešení.
