Determination of the cantilever spring constant is crucial task in the field of Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). Several methods compute the spring constant using the cantilever's resonant frequency. The main objective of this paper is to describe the limitation of Lorentzian fit and to present a novel application of the MUSIC (Multiple Signal Classification) algorithm in the process of determination of the cantilever resonant frequency from thermally induced noise signal.
