Original language description
This paper will focus on passive optical access networks (PONs), especially EPON. The paper includes basic introduction into PONs, further describes the design and utilization of passive optical network workplace in the laboratory of the Department of Telecommunication Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague. The paper also shows possibilities of using this workplace for education and for student's work on their diploma and bachelor thesis. Article also presents the possibilities of future directions of research projects in the field of passive optical networks.

Tento článek se zaměřuje na pasivní optické přístupové sítě (PON), obzvláště na variantu EPON. Obsahuje základní seznámení s problematikou sítí PON a popisuje návrh a realizaci pracoviště PON sítí v laboratoři Katedry telekomunikační techniky, FEL ČVUT vPraze. Příspěvek dále prezentuje možnosti pro jeho využití ve výuce a práci studentů na svých kvalifikačních pracích. Článek rovněž představuje budoucí možnosti a směry výzkumu na poli pasivních optických sítí.
