    Planar Applicators for Local Hyperthermia

  • Original language description

The object of this paper is to show two types of microwave planar applicators for local hyperthermia, a spiral and a slot applicator. Planar structures can be very useful for realization of applicators. The working frequency of these applicators is 434MHz. 3D electromagnetic simulator CST Microwave Studio was used to calculate impedance matching and specific absorption rate (SAR) in homogenous phantom of biological tissue. Results of measurements and simulations of SAR are also compared in both types ofapplicators.
