Original language description
A novel method for microwave measurement of extreme impedances was developed and experimentally verified. The method is based on subtracting a reference reflection coefficient from a reflection coefficient of a device under test by a 180deg 3dB hybrid coupler. The resulting signal is amplified by an amplifier and measured as a transmission coefficient by a standard vector network analyzer (VNA). This method enables significant stability improvement (drift reduction) of the measurement system based on the VNA. Further, impedance of SMD resistors of 0603 size with values ranging form 12 k? up to 330 k? was measured by this method.
