POLYMER OPTICAL WAVEGUIDES FOR HYBRID PHOTONICS APPLICATIONS
Original language description
We report about design and fabrication of the low loss polymer optical waveguides for hybrid optoelectronics applications. The waveguides were designed by using beam propagation method and deposited by spin-coating onto GaAs substrates. Epoxy Novolak Resin polymer was used as core waveguides layer, Cytop was used as buffer layer and Polymethylmethacrylate was used as protection cover layer. The channel waveguides were formed by photolithography process. The best samples had optical losses around 0.63 dB/cm at 650 nm and 0.53 dB/cm at 1310 nm.
