Analysis of EDFA Amplifier Noise Behind the Detector
Original language description
The objective of this article is to familiarize the reader with theoretical solution of noise in the EDFA optical amplifiers. Work is focused primarily on spontaneously generated optical noise - ASE and analysis of its impact on the size of noise on theelectrical side of a detector. The paper is focused on the impact on the electrical bandwidth - Be and optical bandwidth - Bo on the size of signal noise SNR behind the detector. In today's modern optical systems, where the optical amplifiers are deployed, the contribution of only thermal and quantum noise is not sufficient. The gain of optical amplifiers can significantly improve SNR of the optical line system.
