The use of prosody in speech recognition systems, punctuation detector for Czech speech
Original language description
The article presents an overview of some important prosodic features of human speech and focuses on pitch of speech (fundamental frequency, F0). A couple of existing pitch-detection algorithms (PDA) is mentioned. Extracted prosodic features could decrease an overall error rate of speech recognizer and can also be useful for getting additional information from speech, e.g. punctuation generation for recognised continuous speech.. The idea of such kind of detector is also presented.
