Original language description
Operation of stem cell donor Registries and donor searches in their databases would nowadays be unimaginable without the support of information technologies. Registries can use wide spectrum of IT tools that can simplify and speed-up daily work and dataexchange between each other. The goal of the Prometheus project is to improve information technology background of participating Registries, effectiveness and quality of their services and databases. Provided software for stem cells donor Registries is called Prometheus, which completely covers BMDW (Bone Marrow Donor Worldwide) and EMDIS implementation and complies WMDA and EFI standards. Cooperation and common IT solution saves costs and provides a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices between small to middle size Registries. Development of activities of small to middle size Registries is beneficial also for many patients in other countries in the world that have genetic or family relation to local population.
