    Different Methods for Measurement and Modelling of Twisted Pair Parameters

    Automatic measurement facility was implemented at the department of telecommunication of faculty of electrical engineering of Czech technical university in Prague. Measurement facility contains RW switches allowing measurements up to 300MHz or up to 1GHz. Measured twisted pair's parameters can be obtained by measuring but for purposes of fundamental characteristics model is useful to define functions that model the properties of the twisted pair. Its primary and secondary parameters depend mostly on thefrequency. For twisted pair deployment, we are interested in a frequency band range from 1MHz to 100MHz. Measurement methods are commonly implemented in the measuring devices (such as LANTEK) but only for comparison with limit values of twisted pair. The goal of this paper is to optimise a methodology of measuring for the most accurate modelling.
