Analyses of High-Energy Sources with ESA Gaia
Original language description
The ESA satellite Gaia will focus on precise astrometry of objects down to limiting magnitude 20. The satellite will also provide photometric and spectral information which can be used in various astrophysical fields including high-energy astrophysics. Although the sampling of photometric data will not be optimal for this type of work, the strength of Gaia in such analyses is the fine spectral resolution (spectro-photometry) which will allow the correct classification e.g. of GRB-related triggers.
