    This paper is aimed at investigating experimentally how the corona current-voltage characteristics in wire-duct electrostatic precipitators (ESP) are influenced by grading of wire radius. The grading is made to counterbalance the shielding effect of outer wires on the central ones. The measurements were made for a laboratory model of precipitators with and without grading of wire radius.
