Measuring of Material Properties Using Pulsed Eddy Current Techniques
Original language description
The paper describes a non-destructive eddy current technique for testing and experimental evaluation of material thickness and conductivity. The developed technique has been implemented to a real measuring system to verify the theoretical supposition. Apulsed feeding of the excitation coil has been applied. The pulsed eddy current responses are sensed with an inductive probe as well as a giant magnetoresistive sensor based (GMR) probe. The use of GMRs for this type of application is innovative as wellas the post processing method. The particular values of the material properties are computed from integration of the measured signals.
