Hierarchical MAC Capacity in 2-WRC Network based on IR-UWB technology
Original language description
We assume an Ultra-Wideband communication technique employed by all network nodes which influences used channel model. The cooperation of sources is based on a Hierarchical Decode & Forward (HDF) strategy. Due to properties of a Hierarchical eXclusive Code (HXC) a relay fully decodes only hierarchical symbols. Not both individual data as in a classical Multiple Access Channel (MAC) concept. The HDF strategy has an advantage over classical MAC with full decision. The capacity region of the HDF exceeds the region of classical MAC. Hence the HDF offers higher achievable capacity. We provide a mathematical description of the problem based on the information theory. For different particular channel realization we evaluate the capacities by the numerical simulation in MATLAB. For comparison we also evaluate the classical MAC region as well as the true information theoretic channel capacity.
