Original language description
The paper describes the results of technical study demanded by the Czech System Operator. The main goal of the study was an improvement of medium term planning process of ancillary services purchasing. The market with these services was quite volatile inthe past several years and system operator had major problems with cost planning and budgeting. A substantial volume of the services is bought in advance, usually in three-year period. The important aspect of decision process is whether the current price is a bargain, or whether it is better to wait for more favorable price in the future.
