Comparison of Several Horn Apertures for Impedance Matching of Microwave Applicators
Original language description
Industrial applications of electromagnetic field often require usage of resonator-type applicator (other types of applicators would by inefficient). This type of applicator provides very homogeneous characteristics of SAR (specific absorbed energy). Butif not properly optimized or if not frequency stable source is used it can result in high return losses thus lowering the efficiency of the process. In this work we aim to inspect several types of horn apertures with emphasis on good optimization for thegiven working frequency and on the return losses in case of frequency instability. We suggest a suitable conjunction of excitation waveguide and resonator-type applicator at frequency 2.45 GHz and we present its characteristics.
