    Flight Data Recorder - SD logger

  • Original language description

    A flight data recorder is used as a backup system for data storage in the case of primary telemetry system failure. The flight data recorder consists of a control board with a microprocessor Freescale MC9S12XDT and a SD board, which contains a SD slot and supporting electronics. The communication with the SD card is done through a SPI interface and measured data are stored in a simple structure without a file system. The main advantage of this approach is a higher robustness and resistivity to power failure. Flight data recorder stores data obtained via a serial bus RS232 to the SD card. The storage structure is based on a minimum length of processed data that corresponds to one frame/sector at SD card, which is 512 bytes. Each frame/sector consists of2 bytes header and 510 bytes of data. The functional prototype is the result of the project MSM6840770015, partial task "Microsensors in aeronautics".
