CTG Annotator - Novel Tool for Better Insight into Expert-obstetrician Decision Making Processes
Original language description
Cardiotocography (CTG) is monitoring of fetal heart rate (FHR) and uterine contractions (TOCO). Since 1960's it is routinely used by obstetricians to detect fetal hypoxia. In theory, evaluation of the CTG in clinical setting is based on evaluation of macroscopic morphological features as suggested by internationally recognized FIGO guidelines. Though, based on our previous work it seems, that decision making process of obstetricians is not entirely based on macroscopic features and also nonlinear features invisible for naked eye were found significant. Therefore in this paper we present software application intended as a supporting tool for our ongoing research into the automatic evaluation of intrapartum cardiotocography records. Application that should give us better insight into expert-obstetrician decision making process.
