A phoneme classification using PCA and SSOM methods for a children disorder speech analysis.
Original language description
Mathematical-engineering methods are used in different domains, also in a medical science. One area for application of such methods is to assist people with different forms of disabilities. The methods described in the following text are oriented towardsthe analysis of disordered children's speech with the diagnosis of Developmental Dysphasia (DD). Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Supervised Self-Organizing Maps (SSOM) for the analysis and the classification of features from utterances of healthyand ill children are applied. A possibility of clusters visualization is used for a monitoring of disorder proportions and therapy success. The importance of vocalic triangle for children with DD is also shown in the paper.
