IPv6 Fragmentation and Path MTU Discovery Simulation Model for OMNeT++
Original language description
This paper presents the logic, design and performance results of implementation of IPv6 Fragmentation and Path MTU Discovery processes for IPv6 in the OMNeT++ discrete event simulator based on the related RFC documents. It describes the necessary modifications to relevant modules and the simulation model integrated into the INET-20111118 framework for OMNeT++. The simulation model is used to verify proper functionality of the implemented processes. It also describes the methodology for comparison this model with the real implementations of both processes. The methodology is based on a comparison of the measurement RTT for TCP connection. The proper functionality of implemented processes into INET-20111118 framework is verified by using this methodology.
