The present and future of lighting engineering

  • Original language description

An important aspect in the development of any discipline, including lighting engineering, is its place in and its importance for society in general. They fundamentally influence the quality, extent, and speed of implementing new ideas and innovations inthe field, and how these new ideas are received by professionals as well as non-professionals. Apart from its place in society, the future of lighting engineering is determined by other developments which take place in various, often unrelated areas suchas technical resources, research in the area of visual perception, new approaches in lighting design or the impact of light on the environment.
