Constraint Programming and Evaluation Methods for Scheduling with Alternative Process Plans
Original language description
This paper deals with two different problems based on the resource constrained project scheduling with alternative process plans. The constraint programming model is proposed for each of the problems while the main part remains the same for both studiedproblems and only a few additional constraints are defined for each problem separately. The effectiveness of the developed constraint programming model is evaluated in extensive computational experiments and compared with already existing solution methods from the literature. To enhance the evaluation, we propose a set of numeric properties that characterize instances with respect to structural properties, resource environment and attributes of activities. The properties and evaluation of their influence for the quality of solution for various approaches is discussed.
