Validation of Centralized Diagnostics Concept
Original language description
With increasing processing power installed in cars and efforts to reduce operating costs new methods of diagnosis of automobile components are being designed. One of these methods is the concept of centralized diagnostics. The concept is based on the ability to diagnose more faults from ideally a single source of information, which is a main enhancement compared to existing methods of automotive diagnostics. This paper describes a computer application verifying centralized diagnostic approach on the example of a car ignition system. This article contains a general description of the two signal processing methods suitable for fault diagnosis. It also contains a description of a computer application that implements the mentioned methods for the ignitionsystem diagnostics. At the end of the paper the experimental results are presented.
