The paper deals with calculation of luminous efficacy and power losses of modern light sources. The energy efficacy dependence on the spectral distribution of light is described as well as the luminous efficacy dependence on total luminous flux. These two dependences are shown for frequently used light sources, such as fluorescent tubes and LEDs.
