Automatic extraction of contextual information from building information model for fault detection and diagnosis in buildings
Original language description
Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) is important for early detection of heating, ventilation and air conditioning inefficiencies and consequently for reducing of energy consumption in buildings. Methodology described in this paper enables to automatically exploit the information provided by Building Information Modelling (BIM) for FDD. In our software, geometric information about the building from BIM is retrieved and saved into the table. Geometric information about windows, doors, ceilings and walls is included. Date file (with table) serves as an input for FDD methods. Thanks to this approach a lot of human resources can be saved.
