Original language description
This paper presents a design of the PID controller of the longitudinal airflow velocity during fire situations in the Blanka tunnel, which is the most complex road tunnel in Central Europe. It is one of the largest underground structures in the Czech Republic with four tunnel junctions and with the total length of more than 5 km. The simplified one-dimensional mathematical model of the airflow based on the Bernoulli?s equations and continuity equations was used to design this PID controller for many ventilation sections of the tunnel. The designed control can be verified through simulations before opening of the tunnel. On the one hand, this approach discovers potential problems and errors, which can occur during the real operation. On the other hand,it can spare a lot of work and time during the controller tuning within the complex examinations.
