EEG Back-Averaging Based on EMG Analysis
Original language description
This paper inquires into biological signal processing technique back-averaging and its application within electroencephalographic (EEG) and electromyographic (EMG) signals analysis. Surface EEG and EMG signals are captured by neurologists in patients with neurological disease suspicion. The main aim is finding the relationship between EMG activation and EEG signals. The most difficult part of the experiment is precise EMG onset detection. The detected EMG onsets are used for EEG signal back-averaging. Results achieved by backaveraging are processed and evaluated. All used techniques and procedures are described in the article. Results obtained in the experiment prove the relationship between EMG and EEG activity and demonstrate the usability of designed approach.
