Original language description
The stability of a plasma column and the evolution of discharges are strongly dependent on the axial magnetic field. Internal axial and radial components of the magnetic field are formed at high current discharges naturally, but they can be also producedartificially by auxiliary coils or permanent magnets. The PFZ-200 facility was modified for the experiments with an external axial magnetic field. On this facility, an anti-electrode was placed along the z-axis in front of the anode. The auxiliary coilsor permanent magnets generating the axial magnetic field were placed inside the anode and anti-electrode. Using micro-channel plate diagnostics, the stability of the plasma column at an axial magnetic field was studied. At the discharges in deuterium gas, the neutron production and the generation of hard x-rays were diagnosed with the scintillation detectors.
