This study focuses on portfolio investments related to the telecommunications sector. Recently, correlation coefficients for returns on world stock markets have been increasing. This fact leads investors to search for alternative ways to reduce investment risk. As a result, there has been greater use of non-traditional assets. This work investigates whether an investment into the US and global telecommunications sectors might provide greater diversification benefits and opportunities for portfolio diversification.
