Improving a HRTF personalization method by applying the ARI database and increasing the number of used parameters
Original language description
A key to creating a Virtual Acoustic Space (VAS) is Head Related Impulse Response (HRIR) and its Fourier transform - Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF). These functions are used to position the sound source to the particular point in space. HRTF is acomplicated function that is highly dependent on a subject?s individual anthropometric features, and so it has to be either measured (the most accurate, but time and effort consuming way), synthesized completely or personalized, i.e. composed from HRTFsof the subjects with similar head, torso and pinna parameters. This paper concentrates on a HRTF personalization method that along with subject?s anthropometric features also takes into account structural composition of HRTF. The aim is to improve the method by increasing the number of used anthropometric parameters and by using more precise HRTF database ARI (The Acoustics Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences). The result personalized HRTF is compared to the measured o
