Control of Longitudinal Airflow Velocity during Fire Situations in the Tunnel Complex Blanka
Original language description
The Blanka Tunnel Complex, which is a part of the Prague City Ring, was opened to traffic in September 2015. It is the longest road tunnel in the Czech Republic and the longest city tunnel in Central Europe, with the total length of more than 6 km and several connected grade separated junctions. The system of fire ventilation in the Blanka tunnel is relatively complex, since there is the semi-transverse system of ventilation and several ways of smoke extraction. The paper presents design and implementation of the PI controller of the longitudinal airflow velocity during fire situations in the Blanka tunnel. The design of PI controller was performed using two different methods - Ziegler Nichols and Root locus. The paper includes comparison of these methods as well. The paper also presents results from complex examinations in the Blanka tunnel, which were held before opening of the tunnel to traffic.
