Original language description
This paper introduces an algorithm for sound localization in the horizontal plane (azimuth) in utilizing the binaural auditory model. The decision device is based on segmentation, feature extraction and classification, which is implemented in MATLAB environment. The algorithm uses k-nearest neighbors (KNN) classifier with k=20. Exploited features are root mean square and signal decimation. The output of this algorithm is the relative distribution of KNN across groups of azimuths.
